Yes, there are lots of different types of Apprenticeships available. Which Apprenticeship is right for you will depend on your experience and the opportunities with your employer. However, most Apprenticeships include the following basic elements: An appropriate BTEC Diploma at either Level 2 or Level 3; Functional Skills qualifications, English, Maths and ICT; Other qualifications or requirements as specified by the particular occupation. Advanced or Higher Apprenticeships can also be a stepping-stone to university.
A fully funded Apprenticeship will take a minimum of 12 months on programme learning. For Apprenticeship Standards, a minimum of 2 months is required for End Point Assessment which is after the on programme learning period. Apprenticeship Frameworks do not require an End Point Assessment.
An Apprentice is required to commit to the minimum duration in order to achieve the Apprenticeship:
- The duration of Intermediate Apprenticeships are typically 12-15 months
- The duration of Advanced Apprenticeships are typically 13-18 months
- The duration of Higher Apprenticeships are typically 18-24 months
We advise you to have the commitment to spend at least 4 hours of your own time each week, which can be during work hours and go towards your 20% dedicated learning time required as part of your Apprenticeship.
Your Curriculum Specialist will visit you for 2 hours, once a month.
If you require additional support, we can arrange additional visits per month to support you. This will be by a qualified teacher and support is available via Video Calling software.
Your employer pays your wages and gives you on-the-job training which allows you to achieve the Apprenticeship. You’ll also spend time with a Monarch College Curriculum Specialist who will be available to fully support you throughout your learning journey The amount of time you’ll spend studying varies; and will depend on your chosen Apprenticeship and your chosen profession.
Assessments are carried out at your place of work, mostly as you do your day to day job. On occasions you may be required to visit our office in Chobham which could be for assessments or to take tests. Some Apprenticeships contain workshops which are arranged by us and the employer so these could be held in London, Blackpool or at the employer’s premises.
No, not for assessments, however you may be required to attend our offices in Chobham to sit tests and Onscreen assessments for some Knowledge elements or workshops.
A specially trained, fully qualified Curriculum Specialist who has considerable experience in the industry and has helped many others achieve these qualifications.
Yes. You will be asked to give answers to questions about how you do your job and write about things that have happened. There are options available whereby we can (with your permission) record discussions, however you will be required to write in English.
Don’t worry if your writing skills aren’t very good, if you prefer we can always use recordings or our Curriculum Specialists will help you without any embarrassment.
Applicants need to be: Serious, committed, aware of your responsibilities to both yourself and your company, prepared for further study, realistic about the amount of work you will have to do, happy to work as both part of a team and an individual and be able to use your own initiative.
Apprenticeships are for people who wish to progress in their career and will be stretched and challenged.
Why not?! You have the chance to gain a nationally recognised qualification which recognises the skills, knowledge and behaviours that you have acquired whilst doing your job!
Every day is a school day!
You’ll get a package of qualifications when you finish your Apprenticeship, including Functional Skills (if not previously achieved). Some Apprenticeships incorporate a BTEC Diploma in the relevant subject and level, along with various other certificated modules.
We can start Apprentices at any time throughout the year.
Complete the ‘Apply now form’ and we will contact you – usually within 48 business hours.
Be serious about your career and commit yourself to a period of training and study.
